Micro Speaker Audio Comparison

Vol

Micro speakers vary significantly in sensitivity, bandwidth, and maximum SPL, but these differences can be hard to internalize from spec sheets alone. By processing real audio content with measured speaker responses, this demo makes those differences immediately audible across three listening scenarios:

  • "Compare Ole Wolff Micro Speakers at 0.5W" – With identical drive levels, sensitivity and low-frequency extension become the dominant perceptual factors. The larger OWS-182250TA-8 driver shows clear advantages in both SPL output and bass reproduction.
  • "Compare Ole Wolff Micro Speakers at their rated power" – Each speaker is driven to its rated maximum, reflecting realistic application limits. The wider spread in playback level here reflects the real dynamic range of what's achievable across the product range.
  • "Example of digital signal processing (DSP)" – A practical demonstration of how DSP filters can trade headroom for a flatter perceived response and a low-end boost. Useful context for anyone evaluating speakers as part of a system rather than in isolation.
